University of Kragujevac

University of Kragujevac was founded in 1976. The University has almost 1000 university teachers, 14 000 students and 11 faculties, and offers a wide range of study programmes on bachelor, master and doctoral levels. The University has developed a wide network of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with universities and research institutions both in and beyond Europe (e.g. Greece, Rumania, Bulgaria, USA, Israel, Poland and Italy). The University is situated in Central Serbia, from where most of its students come. Five of 11 faculties belonging to the University of Kragujevac are located outside Kragujevac, one of them being the Faculty of Education in Jagodina.


Faculty of Education

Faculty of Education in Jagodina continues a centennial tradition of teacher education in Jagodina. The Teacher-Training School, which was founded in 1898, was in 1972 transformed into the Teacher-Training College, in 1993 into the Faculty of Teacher Education, and, finally, into the Faculty of Education. The Faculty offers study programmes for qualifying as a class teacher, pre-school teacher and boarding-school teacher.The Faculty has about 50 university teachers and 800 students. The Faculty has participated in a number of international projects and developed a wide cooperation network with European universities and institutions of higher education. The Faculty of Education in Jagodina is the leader in reforming activities going on at faculties of teacher education in Serbia.
