„Management and Counselling in European Education“

One-year international Master’s Study at the University of Münster and the University of Zagreb

Please send your application documents in electronic form to both offices of the Center for European Education, in Zagreb and in Münster (zeljka.knezevic(at)ufzg.hr  and nadine.bresch(at)uni-muenster.de ) by 15.07.2012 and additionally by post to the office in Zagreb. The date on the postmark as well as the sending date in the E-mail will be considered.


Admissions requirements (240 ECTS)

  • Completed university study in minimal duration of 4 years (240 ECTS)
  • Adequate work experience (in the field of education and pedagogy or education administration/education management)
  • In the case of a completed 3-year university study (180 CP), work experience of at least 1 year in a Study-relevant field is obligatory. The admission board will decide whether the demonstrated work experience corresponds to the 60 CP * 
  • Proficiency in German and English
  • according to the Common European Framework is required: at least level B1 in one of the two foreign languages and B2 in the other. In the first one-month presence phase of the program in October, 2012 at the University of Zagreb, ca. 80-90% of the courses and the communication will take place in English. During this phase, German language skills are needed above for reading scientific papers and a for understanding spoken German (listening skills). In the second one-month presence phase in May, 2013 at the University of Münster, however, the courses and communication are organized up to 70% in German. In addition to this, some courses will be held in English.
    Basic Internet skills and unlimited Internet access are required, as a large part of the Study is conducted over the Moodle platform.

    Costs of the M.A. Study
    Tuition fees: € 1500 per semester, total € 3000. Payment in two instalments is possible.
    Additional semester fees in Zagreb and Münster are required.

University fees in Zagreb and Münster (ca. 230 € in total)
Costs of individual modules will be separately announced.

  • Proof of work experience, also proof of internships in longer duration (attested copy)
  • Detailed letter of motivation (Guidelines for the letter of motivation)
  • Certificates proving German and English skills (see also Admissions requirements)
  • Recommended: Letter of recommendation (University teacher or employer)

Scholarships (2012/2013)
You are encouraged to apply for a scholarship with various organisations, foundations and institutions in your country. In this respect you should inform yourself which foundations or organisations/institutions in your country offer such possibilities. The international office of the university you attended could be a good address for such information. Scholarship sponsors publish on their websites applications timeframes and requirements.

The Center for European Education can procure contacts to some scholarship sponsors. The number of available scholarship varies and more information in this respect will be given in near future. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please submit your application to the management board of the Center for European Education (see  Guidelines for Scholarship Application).

* (applicants applying under these admission requirements can fully take part in the master's study course; however, due to the present legal specifications in Croatia in regards to the recognition of work experience, they will solely be enrolled at the University of Münster and receive a Master's degree solely from this University).
